RFC500 – Ride for Crawford: Join us in welcoming the riders home

Rosslyn Park will welcome home the RFC500 riders on Saturday 3 October, as a 500-mile journey in support of former 1st XV player Crawford Henderson reaches its conclusion at The Rock.

Our home fixture against Sheffield on Saturday 3 October will be about more than rugby, as Rosslyn Park comes together to celebrate the completion of RFC500 – Ride for Crawford.

The challenge, organised by Crawford’s friends following his illness, will see around 15–20 core riders cycle from Strone in Scotland to Rosslyn Park over seven days, with others joining them for stages along the way.

Starting on Sunday 27 September, the route reflects Crawford’s own journey through life, taking in his primary school in Strone, as well as Durham and Oxford, where he studied, before finishing at the Club.

The ride is raising money for two causes particularly important to Crawford: The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, whose care he has experienced first-hand, and The Brain Tumour Charity, through the Lewis Moody Foundation.

Join the final leg

Members, players, former players, families and friends are invited to join the riders leg on Saturday 3 October.

The group will be at Roehampton Gate at around 11.00am, where supporters can join them for the final leg to Rosslyn Park.

Whether you have ridden hundreds of miles or are simply joining for the final stretch, everyone is welcome. Bring your bike, wear something red and white, and help create a sea of Park heading back to The Rock.

Welcome the riders home

For those who would prefer to leave the cycling to others, the Club will also host a pre-match hospitality lunch ahead of the 1st XV’s fixture against Sheffield.

Members, former players, friends and families are encouraged to join us as we welcome the riders home, celebrate their achievement and raise as much money as possible for Crawford’s chosen charities.

It promises to be a special occasion, bringing together generations of the Rosslyn Park family in support of one of our own.

Support RFC500

Those unable to join the ride or attend the lunch can still support the fundraising effort by donating directly.

DONATE TO RFC500 – RIDE FOR CRAWFORD

As the RFC500 team put it:

Together. With Pride. For Crawford. For Charity.

We look forward to welcoming the riders back to The Rock on Saturday 3 October. Let’s give Crawford and the RFC500 team the reception they deserve.
