Match Preview – DMP (H)

a look ahead to SATURDAY’s game

Rosslyn park vs DARLINGTON MOWDEN PARK, Saturday 28th january, KO 3PM

Park welcome Darlington Mowden Park on Saturday in Matchweek 18.

DMP currently sit in 9th place on the league table with 36 points, 12 points clear of Taunton Titans in 12th and 9 points adrift of Plymouth Albion in 7th. They are coming off of 3 losses on the bounce (all away from home) against Esher, Bishop’s Stortford and Cambridge which is a streak they will be keen to bring to an end at The Rock. Another streak that I’m sure DMP will be aware of is their 5 game-losing streak against Park, stretching back to January of 2019, which was extended with the away victory up in Darlington in October.

In that reverse fixture, Park came away with a 28-33 bonus point victory thanks to a brace from both Charlie Walker and Matt Gordon as well as an Oli Robinson try. Two conversions apiece by Craig Holland and Monty Bradbury sealed the result, but the home side did manage to grab a last-second score in the 80th minute to make it a 5-point game which meant that DMP came away with both a losing bonus point as well as a try bonus from the loss.

If that last match is anything to go by, we should be in for an exhilarating 80 minutes of rugby on Saturday that you won’t want to miss!
