Rosslyn Park Netball club are half way through their Move-a-thon in support of ‘Our Streets Now’.
‘Our Streets Now’, is a social enterprise working to end Public Sexual Harassment in the UK through cultural and legislative change. The group are running a campaign to tackle sexual harassment in sports, working towards a vision of a society where women, girls and people of marginalised genders can participate in sport free from public sexual harassment.
The RPNC girls are each aiming to run, walk, cycle, swim or row 97 miles between 10th February to 9th March in line with the statistic that 97% of women aged 18-24 in the United Kingdom have experienced a form of public sexual harassment.
At the halfway point, the girls have accumulated an impressive collective 902.9 miles and raised £516.00. They are delighted to have met their fundraising goal just two weeks into the challenge and are motivated to continue to raise as much funding as possible for such a special cause.
Members of the netball club will be at The Rock on Saturday 9th March on the final day of the challenge for a fundraising drive, so if you see them rowing, cycling or running please say hello and use the opportunity to donate! They will have details of our GoFundMe page on hand. In the meantime you will be able to follow their efforts across the challenge on their Instagram page and can donate below.
