Teams
At Rosslyn Park our philosophy is that players will only learn if they are enjoying themselves. We welcome everyone, regardless of ability. Rosslyn Park Minis & Youth judge success by whether our players want to come back each week. We aim to coach the basic skills of the game and above all to instil a love of rugby which will last a lifetime. In addition we aim to develop players of all abilities to help them achieve their full potential.
The Minis and Youth set up at Rosslyn Park is based on a thriving and happy bunch of players supported by active and engaged parents.

Guiding Principles
As a group of players, coaches and parents we have evolved the following set of principles for how we approach our rugby.
Culture
- Ensure a competitive, fun environment
- Build a strong sense of teamship within the player groups
- Build a strong sense of identity with Rosslyn Park Football Club
- Treat players, coaches, referees and parents with respect at all times
- Recognise and celebrate successes in a positive, supportive environment (from a good pass to a try-saving tackle to winning a tournament)
Development
- Looking to grow the squads and players towards the full 15 aside and Sevens game in line with the RFU Continuum / New Rules of Play.
- Focus on running, passing, catching and tackling skills to create rounded players
- Send as many teams as possible to tournaments so all players have these great experiences
Selection
- Competitive selection with the best players in the best squads, selected on form, attitude and attendance
- If players play well we will look to move them up through the squads
If players are absent for a tournament or for a period of training they will not be automatically put back into that squad - Movement between the squads enables players to develop in different environments and roles (leadership and responsibility as well as team positions)
Aims for the Season
We want to see an improvement in the core skills of every player and to create a lasting memory of the fun of rugby.
As an age group we will continue to offer out of term time competition and tours to those that cannot make term time festivals and training.

U11
Welcome to the U11s at Rosslyn Park
(for children in Year 6)
Since the the 2016/17 season Under 11s have been re-deployed to the top of the mini rugby tree by the RFU to tie in with the last year of primary school. Girls and boys still play together at U11.
Training
We train once a week in Richmond Park on a Sunday morning between 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Every few weeks we train at the club on the 4G pitch at the Rock – on these days we often invite other clubs from our age group for friendly matches.
There are a number of home and away festivals during the season. These, in accordance with RFU guidelines, are non-competitive ,mixed ability events.
All children will have an equal opportunity to play in them during the season and they offer a great way to show off skills that are developed throughout the season.
In line with RFU policy all players must wear a mouthguard and at Park we also expect every player to wear a scrumcap.
We have a large number of RFU qualified coaches, certified first aiders and RFU qualified referees for our U11 set up. We actively encourage parents to get involved, and support those who want to take qualifications, so there are enough for all the players to have a great time. All first aiders, coaches and referees are CRB checked.
