Birmingham Moseley 21–31 Rosslyn Park
10/10/26
Rosslyn Park came away with a fantastic win at Birmingham Moseley as they edged out a tense second half to secure all five league points, winning 31–21 at Billesley Common.
Park started the brighter of the two teams, building through the phases before some neat hands out wide put Max Trimble into the corner just two minutes in.
Trimble doubled his tally five minutes later when a beautiful grubber kick put the winger in for his second try. This time, Rory Jennings converted.
Birmingham then forced themselves back into the game but were unable to capitalise. Sixteen minutes in, Trimble completed his hat-trick. This time, a pinpoint cross-field kick from Jennings found Trimble, who went over for his third.
Moseley reacted well and, in the 23rd minute, some powerful play saw Harry Ingram barge over, with Harry Read adding the conversion.
But with ten minutes to go in the half, Park built momentum again. Following multiple penalties, Fred Davies barrelled over from close range, and Jennings’ boot made sure of the full seven points.
Park would then come agonisingly close in the dying moments of the first half, but they just couldn’t push a maul over from five metres out.
The second half was a tighter contest, with the hosts starting the better of the two sides. Fin Smith went over from close range after multiple penalties put Moseley within touching distance, with Read adding the conversion.
But Park reacted well once again! After defending further pressure, Tom Bell barrelled over from close range following multiple penalties that brought Park close to the Moseley line. Jennings added the conversion.
However, Moseley put themselves back into the game. As they looked to break away, Hopson stole the ball but was deemed to have acted illegally and was shown a yellow card in the 64th minute.
Park were reduced to 13 men a minute later when Tom Bell received a yellow card for diving over the ball.
Moseley made the most of the extra man, with an inside ball finding Zac Jones. The replacement fly-half went over and converted his own try.
But for the final ten minutes, Park showed incredible resilience, staying strong to secure a 31–21 win!
