The 1st XV are set to take on high-flying newcomers Sedgley Park at The Rock on Saturday.
The newly promoted Manchester outfit have got off to a hot start this season, picking up three wins across the first four weeks against Chinnor and Birmingham Moseley as well as a shock, opening day victory over a Richmond side that had spent the last several years in the Championship. Their only loss so far has come against top-of-the-table Rams.
It has been a while since these two sides last met as Sedgley Park have spent the last decade competing in Nat Two North since being relegated in 2012/13. During that final season, Park did the double over Sedgley, winning 20-12 in the opening round of the season as well as picking up a 24-37 win at the end of the season.
The 1st XV will look to get back to winning ways this weekend and leapfrog Sedgley Park in the league table while doing so. However, the team from the Northwest have looked particularly strong since their return to the third flight of English Rugby and Park will need to bring their A-game if they want to ensure they come away with the win.
