a look ahead to SATURDAY’s game
Rosslyn park vs Hull, Saturday 14th january, KO 3PM
Park welcome bottom-of-the-table Hull to The Rock on Saturday.
The Northeast outfit still have yet to win in National 1 this season and sit bottom of the table, 12 points adrift of Leeds Tykes, with only 9 points to show from their first 13 matches. However, Hull are coming off possibly their best performance of the season last Saturday against Rams in a match that saw them fall just short against the title-challengers in a hard fought 19-24 loss. Hull’s other highlight performance this season also came against another top team in Cinderford who were held to a 30-30 draw at The Ferens Ground in November.
Park should not look past their opponents this weekend, but should feel confident about how they match up against Hull based on the last meeting between the two. The reverse fixture saw Park produce Hull’s biggest defeat of the season so far at The Ferens Ground in September. It was a stellar all-around Park performance that saw the team run in 10 tries with Charlie Walker grabbing a clinical hat trick and Craig Holland slotting 8 of his 10 conversion attempts. Park will hope to reproduce this performance on Saturday – it will be an exciting game with both sides seeking a much-needed win.
