FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS RETURNS
Rosslyn Park vs CHINNOR, FRIDAY 16TH September, KO 8PM
Park welcome Chinnor to The Rock on Friday night as they look to build upon their perfect start to the season that has so far seen them pick up bonus point wins over Cinderford and Esher.
Chinnor, on the other hand, have had a difficult start to the season losing at home to Rams and away at Darlington Mowden Park to leave them sitting in 11th place with a solitary bonus point.
However, based on results in recent seasons between the two clubs, Chinnor are not a side Park can afford to take lightly, regardless of form. Since their promotion to National League 1 in 2018/19, Chinnor have finished below Park in each of the three seasons, but in the six fixtures that have been played between the two sides in that time, they have each come away with two wins apiece and have drawn twice more. Three of those four wins were decided by a margin of no more than a single score, demonstrating how tightly contested this matchup has been in recent memory. The lone game that saw the two sides separated by more than this margin was their most recent meeting, in April of this year, that saw Park beaten soundly away at Chinnor by a score of 55-19.
Park will no doubt be seeking to make amends for that outlier performance this Friday and will hope to keep their fantastic start to season going with what would be a statement win over a team who has regularly proven to be a thorn in their side.
