Match Preview – Chinnor (A)

a look ahead to TOMORROW’s game

chinnor vs rosslyn park, FRIDAY 6th january, KO 7.45PM

A Friday Night Lights fixture kicks off 2023 as Park are set to face Chinnor in Oxfordshire.

The previous meeting between the two sides this season saw Park pick up a 42-14, bonus-point victory at The Rock. Park ran in six tries, including one by Captain and Player of the Match Dan Laventure, with all six scores being converted by Craig Holland who was perfect from the tee that day.

Park will be hoping for a repeat of this performance on Friday and should be confident in their ability to reproduce it against a team that has struggled to win at home this season. In fact, two of Chinnor’s three wins this season, as well as their draw, have all come away from home.

As for how they are looking in the league table, Chinnor currently sit in 10th on 23pts, 11 points adrift of Birmingham Moseley in 9th and equal on points with Esher in 11th. However, Chinnor do have two games in hand over both Esher and 12-placed Leeds, so they will be desperate for a win in order to create some separation from their relegation rivals.

Park, meanwhile, are looking to eat up ground on league leaders Sale and 2nd placed Rams, and could leapfrog Rams in the table with a bonus point win on Friday (although the Reading outfit will have played two fewer matches). Every point matters at this stage in the season, and Park are looking to pick up all five on Friday.
