The 1st XV are set to face Birmingham Moseley at The Rock on Saturday in search of a third successive victory to start the season.
The two sides involved in this weekend’s clash have had very different starts to this year’s campaign. Whilst Park have picked up the maximum 10 points across the first two fixtures following impressive wins over Plymouth Albion and Richmond, Birmingham Moseley find themselves lounging in last place on just 1 point. Although, it must be said that both losses have come against Rams and Sedgley Park who are the only two teams who join the 1st XV with a pair of bonus-point victories.
Interestingly, last season’s fixtures saw two very different matches play out between these sides. A high-octane, high-scoring 80 minutes of rugby in the West Midlands that ended 36-47 to Park was followed by an extremely tight affair at The Rock a few months later that saw the sides separated by a single conversion.
On Saturday, the 1st XV will be hoping to continue not only their fine league form this season, but also their impressive run against Birmingham Moseley which has seen them win 9 of the last 10 including an active streak of 8 wins in a row.
