Club Statement – Remembering Dan Singer

Dear members and friends of Rosslyn Park,

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that our former player and much-loved friend Dan Singer tragically passed away on Thursday while taking part in the RFC500 charity cycle ride in support of his former teammate Crawford Henderson.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Dan’s wife Michelle, his family and friends, and all those who were riding alongside him.

RFC500 was conceived as a celebration of friendship and the enduring bonds created through rugby, bringing together former teammates for a 500-mile journey from Scotland to Rosslyn Park to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and The Brain Tumour Charity, through the Lewis Moody Foundation.

Following Dan’s death, the riders understandably cancelled the remainder of their journey.

However, with the blessing of Michelle and Crawford, the group has decided to complete a final short ride to Rosslyn Park tomorrow, Saturday 3 October, in Dan’s honour where the planned lunch and fundraising will go ahead.

We invite the entire Rosslyn Park family to join us at the club, to welcome the riders, remember Dan and show our support for everyone affected by this tragedy.

We will also hold a minute’s silence before our National League One fixture against Sheffield in Dan’s memory.

What was intended to be a day of celebration will now also be a day of remembrance, friendship and solidarity.
