Match Preview – Esher (H)

a look ahead to TOMORROW’s game

Rosslyn park vs ESHER, FRIDAY 16th December, KO 8PM

Park welcome Esher to The Rock tomorrow evening for the final Friday Night Lights fixture of 2022.

This is the second meeting between these two sides this season. In the reverse fixture, in game week two, Park made the short trip to Esher and came away with a bonus point win thanks to tries from Charlie Walker, Cam Zeiss, Dan Laventure and Ben Howard as well as two late, game-winning Craig Holland penalties in the 78th and 80th minutes.

Park have also generally got the better of their local rivals in recent memory. Across Esher’s last stint in National 1, prior to their relegation to National 2 South in 2019/20, they faced Park a total of 10 times with Park dominating the matchup, winning 8 of these contests and only falling to defeat at The Rock once in that time.

As for 2022/23, Esher have struggled somewhat in their first season back in National 1 as they currently sit in 12th place, on 21 points, with just three wins from their thirteen games played. However, Esher’s form as of late has been much improved, with all three of their wins having come over the past four matches (against Chinnor, Hull and DMP). Park should feel confident about getting the win tomorrow, but can’t afford to overlook their in-form opposition as tempting as that may be at this time of year.
