Surrey took on their third home game of the season on a very bright and fresh Saturday morning. The team got off to a great start considering some new combinations and movements across squads but managed to settle in nicely going 13-7 up after the first quarter. Already some great defensive connections started building with Annabel Saggers (GK) making her Park debut this season along with Alex Addison (C, second half). Great hustle from Park early on which built pressure on Redhill and set the tone for the game.

The second quarter was by far Park’s most successful, scoring an impressive 21 goals, with Bella Ellis (GS) and Georgie Pulsford (GA) nailing their shots consistently. Some flawless through court transitions from defence to attack from park started to catch the Redhill defence off guard which led to back to back goals. Excellent defensive turnovers created by Lucy Paterson (GD) and Jude Lewis (WD) really limiting the attacking options for Redhill.

After a rampaging first half Park were in pole position, however the girls knew they needed to keep the intensity up and by the end Park’s fitness was a key factor to securing the win. The third quarter saw Simone Quick enter the game at GD and Alex Addison at C, who both settled in seamlessly providing great feeding and circle edge drives by Alex and continuous man on defensive from Simone. The Redhill shooters proved to not only be consistent throughout but also started to try and pull the Park defence apart and they really started utilising the goal line for those last-minute drives.

In the final quarter Redhill really stepped up and only lost the quarter by 3 goals, 15-12. Lucy Paterson re-entered the game at GD and Hannah McNally stepping back into C to help finish a very strong and consistent team performance. Park continued building in their defence end and continued adding to their turnovers and intercepts as a unit. The Park attacking end were relentless with circle feeds into Bella and Georgie. Whilst Surrey could not deny Redhill a point, the final score highlighted how fast-pasted the game was with Park nearly reaching 70 goals. Final score 67-36.

Congratulations to Georgie who picked up her first Home POM for this season and Annabel on her first Away POM for this season!

Overall it was an absolute stellar performance by every player. Up next for Surrey will be there first away game this season against Weybridge Vandals on the 28th October.
