MATCH REPORT: Rams v Rosslyn Park

Rams 19 – 36 Rosslyn Park

18/04/2026

On a bright afternoon at Old Bath Road, Rosslyn Park secured an impressive and historic 36–19 victory over Rams, earning all five league points in the process.

Park made a flying start. Following a blocked kick, Luke Mehson reacted quickest, grubbering the ball through and gathering to score the opening try.

Rams responded well and, after a sustained period of pressure, moved the ball through the hands to Alex Mannhardt, who crossed to level the scores at 5–5 after 10 minutes.

The visitors soon regained control. Ed Volley threatened on the fringe before offloading to Charlie Walker, who finished well. Ed Morgan added the conversion to stretch the lead.

Midway through the first half, Park struck again. From a goal-line dropout, a few phases of sharp attacking play created space for Tom Stanton, who sliced through the defence and touched down under the posts.

From that point, Rams dominated territory for much of the remainder of the half. A series of penalties pinned Park deep inside their own 22, and the pressure eventually told when Alex Kalling-Smith finished in the corner following a wide move, reducing the deficit to seven points.

Despite continued pressure, Park’s defence held firm to take their lead into the break.

Park began the second half just as strongly as the first. A quick tap penalty five metres out from Ed Morgan saw him dive over, and he converted his own try. He then extended the advantage further with a penalty in front of the posts on 56 minutes.

Rams continued to push, but Park’s defensive effort remained outstanding. That resilience was rewarded in the 73rd minute when a well-executed maul saw Max Fraine emerge with the ball to score. Luc Smith added the conversion on his return from injury.

Rams grabbed a late consolation in the final five minutes through Zac Clow, who powered over from close range.

Ultimately, it was a superb defensive display combined with flashes of attacking flair that secured a memorable and long-awaited victory for Rosslyn Park at Old Bath Road.
