Rosslyn Park Blues took on Thames Ditton B in their second match of the season.  The Blues demonstrated a formidable performance in the first quarter, showing strong teamwork across the entire court. Kate and Pip, working in the circle, quickly found their rhythm. The centre court tirelessly worked to bring the ball down, while the defence successfully challenged Thames Ditton, resulting in the Blues finishing the quarter with double the number of goals compared to their opponents (10-5).

As the second quarter unfolded, Thames Ditton began to narrow the gap. Despite this emerging challenge, the Blues responded admirably throughout the quarter. They maintained resilience, ensuring that Thames Ditton didn’t establish a significant lead. The quarter concluded with Thames Ditton holding a slim one-goal advantage (15-16).

In the third quarter, the Blues came to the court with an unyielding determination. Georgie, as GS, collaborated seamlessly with Kate to enable numerous shooting opportunities. Tash and Maddie added a dynamic element, showcasing speed up and down the court while delivering exceptional feeds. The defensive trio of Charlotte, Jess, and Lydia continued their stellar performance, securing valuable tips and interceptions to disrupt the opponent’s plays. The Blues mounted a remarkable comeback, winning the quarter 26-23.

As they entered the final quarter, the team radiated positivity and motivation, resolute in their pursuit of an undefeated record. Maintaining composure, they executed precise plays, working the ball down the court with quick and efficient deliveries into the shooters’ hands, converting them into crucial goals. The latter part of the quarter witnessed the Blues extending their lead, with enthusiastic support from the sidelines fueling their momentum. The team fought relentlessly until the final whistle. This close game underscored the strength, positivity, and motivation embedded in the Blues’ team spirit. With a hard-fought victory of 35-29, the Blues continue their impressive unbeaten streak.

A massive shoutout to the entire team and supporters, with a special mention for our deserving POMs – Lydia, once again reading the game well and making impressive interceptions to be the Away POM; and Jess, always applying pressure and getting those game-changing tips throughout each quarter.
