MATCH REPORT: Fetcham A vs Kingston Reds



Rosslyn Park Reds squared off against Fetcham A on a blustery Saturday morning in Leatherhead, in a performance of resilience, teamwork and great energy. The starting lineup featured GS Pip, GA Georgie P, WA Milly, C Bert, WD Kate, GD Sim, and GK Gabs.

First Quarter (22-4): The Reds dominated from the opening whistle, displaying exceptional defensive prowess that denied Fetcham A any easy opportunities. The formidable defence led by Sim and Gabs was impenetrable, creating turnovers and converting them into quick counter-attacks. Kate and Bert expertly worked the ball down the court, and the new attacking trio of Pip, Georgie, and Milly converted goals supported by sharp feeds into the circle. The first quarter concluded with the Reds holding a commanding lead of 22-4.

Second Quarter (35-10): The pressure from the Reds continued into the second quarter, with Fetcham A struggling to break through the solid defensive unit. The scoring momentum continued for the Reds, capitalising on turnovers and showcasing excellent teamwork. The halftime score stood at 35-10. 

Third Quarter (41-20): The third quarter had some lineup changes for the Reds, with Milly stepping into GA and Abby coming on as GK. The wind picked up, affecting the trajectory of the ball and challenging both teams. Despite the conditions, Reds maintained their composure and secured a 41-20 lead by the end of the third quarter.

Fourth Quarter (54-31): In the final quarter, Fetcham A fought hard to narrow the gap, but the Reds stayed calm and played their own game, executing strategic plays to ensure a comfortable lead. The match concluded with a final score of 54-31, securing a well-deserved victory for the Reds.
