a look ahead to SATURDAY’s game
BISHOP’S STORTFORD vs rosslyn park, Saturday 21ST january, KO 3PM

The 1st XV travel to Hertfordshire on Saturday as they are set to take on 6th placed Bishop’s Stortford.
Stortford currently sit on 45 points, 13 points and 2 places behind Park (although they have played two matches fewer), and are most recently coming off of a 26-14 defeat away to Rams in a match that saw them go 26-0 down before grabbing two late scores.
That was their second loss to Rams this season, a result which means that Bishop’s Stortford have now lost every match they have played against the 5 teams that currently sit above them in the league. Interestingly however, those six losses are their only losses this season, with Stortford having also picked up wins over every team currently below them (aside from Chinnor whom they have yet to face).
One of those losses earlier this season came in the reverse fixture against Park in October. In that match, Park triumphed over Bishop’s Stortford 33-29 at The Rock thanks to a last-gasp try scored by Joe Luca Smith that secured the bonus point win. Benji Marfo, Charlie Walker and Henry Spencer all got in on the try-scoring action that day with Arthur Ellis also dotting down only to have his score later scrubbed off by the official.
Park will be hoping for a similar result on Saturday although maybe without the need for the late game heroics!
