We’re delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale for The Deloitte London Floodlit 7s.

A fitting way to welcome you all back to The Rock to watch some of the best 7s teams play spectacular rugby on a summer evening, building up to the final just after 10:00PM.

The London Floodlit 7s is a chance to see local London rugby clubs and invitational 7s sides strutting their stuff with a mixture of up-and-coming talent and known ex Premiership stars on show.

Since its beginning in 1975 the Rosslyn Park London Floodlit 7s tournament has been a great way to end the 15s season, in 2021 it’s going to be the introduction to the start of the 2021/22 15s season! In past years it’s not just been the team names but the players themselves that have attracted the crowds with the Premiership teams bringing along the likes of England’s Danny Care, Ugo Monye, Chris Robshaw, James Haskell, to name a few.

It’s definitely ON! There’s an all-star line up for the Deloitte London Floodlit Sevens on Thursday 24 evening, despite the four week delay to the end of lockdown.

In addition to two Rosslyn Park teams, we have local rivals Blackheath, Ealing Trailfinders and Esher. We have the globe-trotting Sevens specialists of the Ramblin Jesters, Assassins 7s and Samurai showing their skills, along with SA Wild Dogs and a bit of Caribbean flair from Jamaica Rugby.

The teams are drawn in two pools of five. Pool A comprises ourselves, Ealing Trailfinders, Assassins 7s, Esher and Ramblin Jesters. Pool B features ourselves (Rosslyn Park Rangers) SA Wild Dogs, Samurai, Blackheath and Jamaica Rugby.

Because Covid restrictions have yet to be fully lifted, please ensure you comply with all the rules. We may have to tweak some arrangements, but be assured that bars and catering will be available. Please co-operate with any PA announcements or requests from stewards on the night.

Gates will open at 16:00 (along with bars and food outlets) and the first match kicks off at 17:00.

Each team will play two others in their group, with final placings decided by playing record. (No need to bring a calculator – placings will be announced over the PA system). There will be play-offs for the minor placings before the winners and runners-up in each group will contest the semi finals, then at 10:00PM the two third-placed clubs play-off for the bowl, leading up to the Final at 10:20 PM. Add in – hopefully – a balmy summer evening in the open air and you surely have a great night out.

Advance tickets are available on-line for only £10 to see the best evening of 7s that London has to offer.

In addition to being a very entertaining summer’s evening, the Floodlit Sevens has a a major source of revenue for the club – and in the present situation your club really does need the revenue! We would appeal to all of our members and supporters to really get behind the tournament – promote it among your friends and contacts as well as coming along yourselves. If you, or someone you know, might be interested in sponsorship then please do speak to Dom Shabbo.
