(for children born after 1st September 2007 and before 31st August 2008 – Year 6)
Since the the 2016/17 season Under 11s have been re-deployed to the top of the mini rugby tree by the RFU to tie in with the last year of primary school. Girls and boys still play together at U11.
We train once a week in Richmond Park on a Sunday morning starting at 9:00am for around 90 minutes, with festivals and friendlies throughout the year for all teams. Every few weeks we train at the club on the 3G pitch – on these days we often invite other clubs from our age group for friendly matches.
In line with RFU policy all players must wear a mouthguard and at Park we also expect every player to wear a scrumcap.
We have a large number of RFU qualified coaches, certified first aiders and RFU qualified referees for our U11 set up. We actively encourage parents to get involved, and support those who want to take qualifications, so there are enough for all the players to have a great time. All first aiders, coaches and referees are CRB checked.
For details on joining please look at the Joining Page.
If you have any specific questions around joining the U11s at Rosslyn Park please contact the coaches Greg Sendell via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or Ed Dickinsonvia email: email@example.com
Contacts for all coaches and managers for the mini and youth age groups are published on the Mini & Youth team Contact page.
As a group of players, coaches and parents we have evolved the following set of principles for how we approach our rugby.
We want to see an improvement in the core skills of every player and to create a lasting memory of the fun of mini rugby. The pre-season camp and the Spring tour will be open to all players as ever.
As an age group we will continue to offer out of term time competition and tours to those that cannot make term time festivals and training.
