Mini Rugby Festivals

2017 Autumn Festival Dates

Sunday 8th October – Under 11s & Under 8s

Sunday 15th October – Under 12s & Under 7s

Sunday November 12th – Under 10s

Sunday November 19th – Under 9s

Our own Festivals are intended for complete age groups. No one stays at home and everyone gets meaningful rugby at an appropriate level in a friendly atmosphere.

As before there are medals for every competitor but there are no longer winners or runners up trophies. All teams will play in a round robin format and the format is set so that all teams get equal rest between games.

Invitation and Entry Form for the 2017 Autumn Festivals

Savills Rosslyn Park Mini Rugby Festivals

The Rosslyn Park Mini Rugby Festivals sponsored by Savills will see over 2300 children play rugby over the autumn. In previous years the Festival has hosted the champions of Berkshire, Bucks, Cornwall, Hampshire, Kent, Lancashire, Sussex and Warwickshire, as well as the county champions and leading teams from Middlesex and Surrey.

Savills are the lead sponsors of the Rosslyn Park Minis & Youth.

The draw and pitch layout will be posted on this page on the Monday before each festival.

Our festivals run to time and normally finish between 12:30 and 1:30 depending on the number of matches needing to be played.

Useful information when entering

Under 7s, 8s and 9s are run as true Mixed Ability events.

For the older contact age groups we ask clubs to let us know the relevant strengths of their teams so that they can be placed in suitable round robin pools to maximise the enjoyment and challenge for players and coaches alike. Some counties offer graded competition, some have opted for Mixed and some for part Mixed. We try to accommodate everyone that wants to enter and place them in pools of similar standard. For any single draw we work off inputs such as “we’re unbeaten in our county”; “a good A team”, “an average but not stand out A team”, “Mixed A/B but with one or two strong players”, “Mixed A/B but not up to taking on the bigger clubs”, “a normal B team”, “a C team but not a development team”, “it’s the first festival for a lot of them”.

The pools on the day are not listed as A*, A, B etc. All sides play the same number of games on the maximum sized pitches allowed under Age Grade Rugby as we find this encourages flowing rugby.

The Rosslyn Park Autumn Festivals are held at the King’s House Sports Ground, Riverside Drive, Chiswick, London W4 2SH.

There is a strict no dogs policy at the school grounds.

Parking is free.
Note – for many sat navs the postcode to use is W4 2RZ – this is a Royal Mail “funny” for historical reasons.
