For the ninth year running Rosslyn Park are running the Middlesex Under 12 League.
The Middlesex U12 Championships was created nine years ago to help young players develop their Rugby and help bridge the divide between Mini and Youth Rugby. The intention is to provide a format that enables a better Rugby experience for teams and players as well as helping facilitate a better alignment of teams when they transition to the combined Middlesex & Herts Youth Leagues at U13. From the initial experiment the U12 Championship has gone from strength to strength.
The format for the Championship is unique with 4 weekend rounds played through the season. Each round comprises 2 games of 30 minutes played as a three-way fixture. The results of these games are compiled and points awarded for the results.
Similar competitions are held in other counties to determine their County ‘Cup’.
The final positions of clubs has always been used to help establish the League entries for clubs choosing to enter the Herts/Middx League at U13. U13 and U14 League rugby ended for the 2016/17 season onwards under the new RFU competition rules but the rankings are still used to appropriately group teams.
The process starts in September with clubs formally entering their teams followed by the Draw held in early October. The three weekend rounds start in November with the Final Round in February
